As is our tradition, the 12th Friendship Marathon in Pleven has a charitable cause again – to provide a scholarship for a medical student as part of the “Get Ready to Succeed” program of the BCause Foundation. The financial aid is intended for a student or students with excellent results, who has lost one or both parents or grew up in a specialized institution.
The marathon has been supporting “Get Ready for Succeed” for the last four years. A total of 158 students are scholarship recipients of ‘Ready for Success’ for the 2025/2026 academic year. Four of the new scholarships were funded through donations raised at the 11th Friendship Marathon in Pleven. One full scholarship was provided by Palfinger.
Stanimira Georgieva from the social enterprise “Eyes Open”, co-organizer of the event, shares:
“With the eleventh edition of the Friendship Marathon Pleven 2025, we will once again support the cause of education. With the funds raised, we will provide a scholarship to a medical student – a young person who has chosen this humane profession and the calling to help.”
Over the years, the Pleven Friendship Marathon has traditionally supported charitable causes in aid of children with intellectual disabilities, people with different abilities and socially disadvantaged youth. We believe that in this way we help create a more cohesive and tolerant community, where everyone feels accepted and has the opportunity to contribute.
